Volunteering with UnionAID

At UnionAID, we believe in the power of collective action to bring about transformative change. When you volunteer with us, you’re not just lending a hand; you are becoming part of an international movement for economic justice, social equality, and dignified work for all. You are affirming your commitment to creating a world where everyone has access to the opportunities and rights they deserve.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering with UnionAID isn’t just about giving. It’s also about growing. You’ll gain invaluable experiences and insights, learning about different cultures, issues, and solutions from a grassroots perspective. It’s an opportunity to cultivate a deeper sense of empathy, enhance your skills, and build new connections in Aotearoa and internationally.

How can you help?

Every volunteer brings a unique set of skills and experiences . At UnionAID, we offer a variety of volunteering opportunities tailored to align with your interests.

  • Advocacy and Outreach: Work to spread awareness about our projects and campaigns, fostering dialogue and garnering support.
  • Fundraising: Help us sustain our initiatives by helping to develop our fundraising strategies.
  • Events: Help to organise and run our events – film screenings, quizzes, music, social, lectures, panel discussions.
  • Mentor: Share your skills and knowledge with people from our Young Leaders Programmes

If you have a different skill set or a novel idea of how you can contribute, we are more than willing to explore that with you.

Join our Action Committee

UnionAID’s Action Committee of volunteers meet every month to plan and run fundraising events and provide input to UnionAID’s projects and reporting. The Action Committee is made up of volunteers who share our union and social justice values and give their time to this cause.
