RANGSIT AND AREA LABOUR UNION ACTIVITY NOT STOPPED BY COVID-19
The lockdown in Thailand has not prevented union leaders from starting a new ambitious UnionAID funded project. Trialling a video link, they have run their first of twenty study groups, in this case to prepare factory workers for their upcoming negotiations with their medical supplies company. Other planned topics include how to engage youth and general members in union activities, gender equality, and using social media. Building on the successful 2019 project, which saw increased union membership and three new unions signed up to the RLUG, this project aims to show how union membership can improve the lives of workers.
