Gathering at Mindanao Young Leaders farewell and completion ceremony
December marks the end of the 2019 Indonesia and Mindanao Young Leader programmes and the 18 young leaders preparing to return to their communities. Over a busy 4-6 months in Aotearoa/NZ both groups have benefitted from visits to organisations and lectures from experts in a range of fields from human rights and democracy to environment and campaigning. Each young leader has developed their own project based on what they have learnt in NZ that they will implement when they return home. These tackle important issues like disability rights, climate change, sexual violence and worker’s rights. We wish them all the best with these and their future work.
