Indonesian Young Leaders in Auckland
With the arrival in July of seven women and one man, INSPIRASI, the Indonesian Young Leaders Programme, is off to a successful start in Auckland. Although modelled on the MYLP, there is a stronger focus on practical skills for sustainable development, reflecting the needs of Eastern Indonesia. The young leaders have already visited Parliament to learn about democracy and will soon spend a week on a noho Marae on the East Cape learning about Māori approaches to development. INSPIRASI is run by UnionAID in collaboration with the Auckland University of Technology and funded by MFAT.
