Sixty more students join young leaders programme
We’re proud to announce that MFAT has agreed to fund our Myanmar Young Leaders Programme for a further 5 years. This funding will mean another 60 young leaders get the opportunity to study democracy, human rights and development here in Wellington.
The Young Leaders Programme has now had seven intakes and the forty seven alumni are already making an important contribution to shaping Myanmar’s future. Two alumni, Aung Lwin and Zet Nan, are currently representing Myanmar in the U.S on the Young South-East Asian Leaders Initiative that was established by President Obama.
It is a good opportunity to recognise the contribution of host parents, volunteer coordinators and contributors who have made the programme such a fantastic learning opportunity for the young leaders.
